Heartiest congratulations to Jalal Tagreeb for publishing a review of my book, Controversies in Islam, on March 21, 2025, in The Freethinker. I have never laughed for heartily.
Jalal Tagreeb feigns to be an ex-Muslim from the Levant. He pretends to have been a lion of dawah. He claims to have engaged in years of debates against secularists. Curiously, there is no trace of him anywhere until he surfaced as a supposed apostate less than a year ago.
According to Tagreeb, a self-avowed supporter of Satan, and a self-professed Zionist and supporter of Israel, Controversies in Islam is “an exercise in Islamic propaganda” that is “intellectual weak” and “morally bankrupt.”
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I cannot imagine a better compliment from a person like you. Surely, your handlers could have created a better backstory for you. There are no cyber crumbs. You are a specter engaged in anti-Islamic propaganda.

Curious how these Islamophobic operatives always target the partisans of moral, ethical, rational, progressive and even secular Islam, rather than target radical Islamist academics, activists, authors, and religious leaders.
Controversies in Islam condemns wife-beating, anti-Semitism, shari’ah law, violent jihad, terrorism, polygyny, child marriage, misogyny, racism, slavery, concubinage, intolerance, and dictatorship. It calls Muslims to reason, tolerance, democracy, pluralism, and love. It actively encourages Muslims to co-exist peacefully with Jews and Christians on a platform of justice. And yet it receives such vitriol!
Why not target the prominent Muslim academics and clerics who promote all the evils that Controversies in Islam condemns? Why not attack those who defend child marriage, slavery, and concubinage? Why not denounce those who defend coerced and compulsory veiling and female genital mutilation? These soldiers of Satan have no interest in reforming Islam or realigning it with morals and ethics. Their sole objective is to destroy it. I will play no part in that plot.
