I am saddened to learn that my friend and colleague, Dr. Dennis Patrick Walker, the brilliant scholar, author, and professor, passed away from pancreatic cancer on July 22, 2020, at the age of 74. His research was his raison d’etre. Regardless of your religious affiliation, please take some time to remember him in your prayers as this is something he would have liked.
Dennis was buried in Bunurong Memorial Park, South Dandenong, Australia, in grave J50 in the Rawda Ah-Rahman area. Unfortunately, because of COVID, his son, al-Radi (Roddi) Walker, has not been able to provide his headstone yet. However, he asked for the following Gaelic proverb to be inscribed: “A tune is more lasting than the voice of the birds, A word is more lasting than the riches of the world.” Rest in peace, my friend and colleague, rest in peace.
