DR. JOHN ANDREW MORROW HONORED AS ONE OF A HUNDRED NOTABLE MUSLIM AMERICANS

Dr. John Andrew Morrow has been honored as one of a hundred notable Muslim Americans by the Interfaith Institute of Long Island in a publication that was published on August 27th, 2022. The entry reads as follows:

John Andrew Morrow, the author of The Covenants of the Prophet Muhammad with the Christians of the World (2013) and editor-in- chief of Islam and the People of the Book: Critical Studies on the Covenants of the Prophet (2017), directs the Covenants of the Prophet Foundation and acts as a religious/political advisor to several world leaders.

Professor Morrow appeared in the section on “Faith and Community,” along with the likes of Hind Makki, Dr. Ingrid Mattson, M. Hasna Maznavi, Warith Deen Mohammed, Seyyed Hossein Nasr, Malcolm X, Zaid Shakir, Omar Suleiman, Siraj Wahhaj, Suhaib Webb, Hamza Yusuf, Sherman Jackson, and Asma Inge-Hanif.

As Charles Upton, the distinguished American Sufi author and philosopher and director of the Covenants of the Prophet Foundation noted, “The Interfaith Institute of Long Island has honored itself by recognizing Dr. John Andrew Morrow as one of a hundred notable Muslims.” For Morrow, “it is surreal to be on the same list as Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Mike Tyson, Hakeem Olajuwon, Dave Chapelle, Ice Cube, and Bella Hadid.”

Other American Muslims who were honored in various categories include Su’ad Abdul Khabeer, Daisy Khan, Khizr Khan, Dalia Mogahed, Linda Sarsour, Andre Carson, Keith Ellison, Ilhan Omar, Rashid Tlaib, Amani al-Khatahtbeh, Reza Aslan, Mehdi Hasan, Fareed Zakaria, Aasif Mandvi, Yasmine Al Massri, Dalilah Muhammad, Ibtihaj Muhammad, and DJ Khaled.

Asked about the accolades, Dr. Morrow was succinct, responding only by saying: “All praise is due to Allah.”
